What's a lash lift?
A semi-permanent treatment that enhances your natural lashes, making them appear fuller and longer. 100% your own lashes, lifted and tinted darker using a lifting lotion and silicone rods. You get real curl without the kink a lash curler leaves behind, and it's a maintenance free alternative to extensions. Repeated clamping from a curler can pull and loosen lashes at the root over time; many clients find their natural lashes actually look healthier after switching to lash lifts.
Results typically last 4–8 weeks, with some clients holding their curl up to 12 weeks. There's no maintenance appointment needed in between. You simply repeat the treatment as new lash growth comes in, generally no sooner than every 6–8 weeks.
What's the difference between lash extensions and a lash lift?
Lash extensions add length and fullness that can be customized to a natural or dramatic shape, including cat-eye or doll-eye styling. A lash lift uses 100% your own lashes, lifted upward at the root. Nothing added, just a sleeker curve to your natural lash line. You wake up with lifted lashes daily, and mascara is still an option if you want more length or volume. If you want definition without committing to extensions, a lash lift is the simpler route. See our full lash extensions page for comparison.
Will it damage my natural lashes? Does it hurt?
No. Our artists are certified and trained, and the process is pain-free. We use formaldehyde-free, gentle, high-grade formulas that are safe for your eyes and lashes.
Who's a great candidate for a lash lift?
Anyone happy with their natural lash length who wants a semi-permanent, curled, mascara-free look. It's not recommended for clients with alopecia, active conjunctivitis (pink eye), trichotillomania (hair-pulling disorder), or those currently undergoing chemotherapy.
What if my lashes are really short?
Lash lifts work for everyone. Most clients are surprised by how much length their natural lashes actually have once lifted. If you're looking for more volume specifically, lash extensions may be the better fit. Not sure? A complimentary consultation can help you decide.
What's the process like?
After a quick cleaning of the eye area, a curl size (S–XL) is selected based on your natural lash length, and silicone rods are placed using a water-soluble, skin-safe adhesive. A lifting lotion is applied and processed, followed by a setting lotion. Once removed, if a lash tint was booked then a custom-blended tint is applied for a darker, more visible lash line, followed by a thorough cleanse. The full process takes about 45–75 minutes, and processing time varies slightly from person to person.
Is a lash lift the same as an old-school lash perm?
No. Traditional lash perms used small curlers that often left an over curled, "dolly" look. A lash lift uses silicone pads to lift each lash individually at the root in a straight or curled, upward direction, giving length and a bright eyed result without the dated over curled effect, using a more nourishing solution.
What's a lash tint, and do I need one?
A lash tint gives a long lasting, mascara-like effect without smudging, running, or clumping; especially useful for naturally light-colored (blonde, gray, light brown) lashes, since lash tips are often naturally lighter than the roots. Tint is optional and fully customizable from a natural shade to a dramatic dark, and many clients book a lift and tint together for the fullest mascara-like effect.
Can I get a lash lift while pregnant?
Yes, many clients get a lash lift while pregnant, typically after their first trimester. We're not medical professionals, so we always recommend checking with your doctor or health practitioner first. Accommodations are available if you're unable to lay flat on your back.
What should I do before my appointment, and what's the aftercare?
See our full lash lift before and aftercare page for complete preparation and aftercare instructions.
What else should I know?
You may notice "baby lashes" growing in at odd angles shortly after your lift. This is normal and usually a sign those lashes are getting ready to shed naturally, or that it's close to time for your next lift.
